Other Professional Exchanges

WorldDenver is the local host organization for international visitors sponsored by the International Visitor Leadership Program. WorldDenver also administers fee-for-service programs, designing unique programs carefully tailored to deliver program sponsor and participant objectives. Clients include the Institute of International Education, Meridian International Center, the US-Russia Foundation, the Open World Leadership Center, the US Embassy in Belgium, FHI 360, WorldLearning, and the America for Bulgaria Foundation. WorldDenver is a member in good standing of Global Ties US and meets all of Global Ties US' compliance requirements and organizational standards.

Recent Programs

Young Leaders of the Americas

President Obama launched the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) to connect and empower young leaders across the hemisphere by providing them with the tools, networks, and resources they need to transform their societies and contribute more fully to economic development and prosperity, security, human rights, and good governance. 

WorldDenver partnered in the implementation of YLAI in Fall 2017 by hosting 12 participants from Latin America and the Caribbean. The program highlighted entrepreneurship and leadership development in the context of our rapidly developing city of Denver.

WorldDenver is partnering with Meridian International Center to host 14 more YLAI fellows in Denver from September 22 to October 20, 2018. You can find the Denver YLAI Landing Page here.

Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative

Launched in 2013, YSEALI consists of bright young leaders aged 18-35 years from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma/Myanmar, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. These young leaders have innovative ideas for tackling what they have identified as their generation's greatest challenges in the ASEAN region: economic development, environmental protection, education, and civic engagement. In May 2018, WorldDenver hosted 4 YSEALI fellows to further develop their leadership skills in Denver.

Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program

The Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP) for high school students and adult mentors is a program sponsored and funded by the U.S. Embassy, Baghdad and U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Youth Programs Division. Through IYLEP, participants can develop skills in leadership and civic engagement through workshops as well as build mutual understanding between the people of Iraq and the U.S. through homestays. In July 2018, WorldDenver will host a dozen high school students to participate in the program.

Youth Ambassadors Program for Argentina and Chile

WorldDenver partnered with World Learning to administer the 2018 Youth Ambassadors Program with Argentina and Chile. Through Youth Ambassadors, youth from Argentina and Chile, ages 15-18, gain the knowledge and leadership skills to become more engaged in their communities, and get to know the United States and their home countries, as well as the members of their own group of ethnically, religiously, and nationally diverse participants. Youth Ambassadors addresses three primary areas for the students: civic participation, appreciation of multi-ethnic diversity, and youth leadership. In addition, for the adult participants, it addresses adult leadership and mentoring. In March and April 2018, WorldDenver hosted 15 participants.

Russian Business Leaders

This exchange program is for young business professionals from Russia who are committed to driving economic development through leadership and sound business practices. The goals of the program are: to create partnerships between companies in the US and Russia; to strengthen understanding of the US policies and practices related to business, innovation, and entrepreneurship; afford promising yound professionals from Russia the opportunity to gain practical experience in, and exposure to, US business polices and practices; and sharpen leadership and technical skills of Russian business leaders. WorldDenver will host 5 professionals through this program in August and September 2018.
