About the Walk in U.S., Talk of Japan Program

The purpose of this program is to have a group of Japanese citizens, headed by a former Ambassador, engage in discussion with local U.S. citizens about Japan. Ambassador Ken Shimanouchi, will be leading the group here in Denver. The discussion will include his experiences as a former diplomat, as well as the perspectives of Japanese citizens working in private companies.

The main goal of the program is to meet with Coloradans who are vaguely interested in Japan but are not so familiar, or those who would simply like to know more about what Japan is like.

Japanese society, economy, women in management positions, politics, business and culture will be discussed, as well as Japan’s strengths and the challenges it currently faces.

Ambassador Shimanouchi is a former Japanese Ambassador to Spain and Brazil.
