Join WorldDenver’s Ben Cherrington Legacy Society
Ben Mark Cherrington (1885-1980) played a key role in expanding the international engagement of both Denver and the wider global community. As one of the authors of the United Nations Charter, key founders of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and hand-picked leader of the State Department’s newly created Division of Cultural Relations, his contributions to the field of international affairs were significant. Within Denver, his work as a professor and chair of the University of Denver’s Department of International Relations as well as his involvement in bringing the International Visitor Leadership Program to Denver helped to bring national and international recognition to our local community.
