Citizen Diplomat Award Evening
WorldDenver's inaugural Citizen Diplomat Award Evening was held on Tuesday, September 10th at the elegant headquarters of AMG National Trust Bank. WorldDenver's first Citizen Diplomat Honoree was Mr. Russell Kemp, founding WorldDenver Board Member and Partner at Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe. We had the distinct honor of hearing from the esteemed Ambassador Michael McFaul, former U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation (2012-2014), present "From Cold War to Hot Peace," an inside account of U.S.-Russia relations from 1969 to the present. This event is a fundraiser supporting all WorldDenver programs.
We have chosen the Citizen Diplomat Award to recognize the outstanding contributions of a citizen diplomat among WorldDenver leaders. In an increasingly complex world, citizen diplomacy is a simple concept that has a tremendously meaningful impact on our community and the world as a whole. A Citizen Diplomat's leadership embodies WorldDenver's mission to strengthen and expand the community of engaged global citizens in Colorado through education, cross-cultural exchange, and personal interaction with international leaders, professionals, and students.
